  1. Star Entertainment Group Brisbane

    17.05.2026

“Seeing the finished Sky Deck is extra special, as the completed deck is made from Australian steel, manufactured just up the road at Beenleigh. The Queen’s Wharf Brisbane redevelopment, which is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium, is located on state-owned land between the Brisbane River and George Street and between Alice and Queen streets. The team involved in doing the very technical lift were sourced for their expertise on similar projects in Dubai and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. “Not everything will open all at once on day one.
That also means returning guests will find something new to
experience, not just here at The Star but also across both sides of the river.” “We are
thrilled to be commencing our phased opening to
coincide with Brisbane’s biggest party, Brisbane Festival; however, the
transformed grassed public areas along the river
including The Landing and Finger Wharves will open after Riverfire.” Then there’s the event centre with a 1440-seat ballroom, plus an outdoor terrace; the new LiveWire, which is being reborn as a live music-focused venue; a food quarter, plus other eating and drinking options; and a gymnasium.
That is completely separate, though, to this project. “This is the biggest non mining
piece of infrastructure for Queensland, so it’s very impressive,” Cooke said. When opened by the end of the year, Sky Deck would hold as many as 1500 people enjoying restaurants, bars and a glass-floor viewing platform. It is located above the Brisbane River, providing visitors with a fantastic view of the CBD, Moreton Bay, and Mt Coot-ha. “The intention was
always for guests to visit for the views and stay for the experience and Aloria is critical
to deliver on that promise, providing a charming and
elegant dining destination at the heart of Brisbane’s newest entertainment hub.” “Sky Deck is rapidly becoming one of the city’s most captivating day-to-night destinations and with the addition of Aloria,
we will have the ability to offer guests unique experiences that will serve up unforgettable moments in the sky,” Mr Osuch said. A 12-page wine list curated by Aloria Head Sommelier Damian Danaher will set a new standard for Brisbane as the official ‘cellar in the sky’, including hand-picked vintages from world-renowned wine producer, Château Lafite Rothschild alongside award-winning varietals and more fun, flirty and fascinating blends.
There’s an optional saké pairing too, with sparkling and still varieties, plus dessert liqueurs – including a yuzu number, and one with ume, cane spirit and dark rum – to really transport you to the tiny cocktail bars of Japan. You can order à la carte, or let the chef take you on a culinary journey with the nine-plate tasting menu for $160. It’s helmed by executive chef Shayne Mansfield, who was part of the opening team at London’s Michelin-starred City Social. In partnership with The Star Brisbane, here are the hero dishes at its flagship fine diners, Aloria and Sokyo.
Sokyo has brought its culinary expertise and artistic presentations, transforming conventional dishes into extraordinary culinary masterpieces. HUA brings a refined take on modern Chinese dining, blending traditional flavours with a contemporary flair. Perched 35 metres above street level, between the resort’s four towers, The Star Brisbane’s Leisure Deck is a 12,000sqm open-air oasis in the heart of Brisbane’s City. The Star Grand boasts 340 elegantly designed rooms, including 60 opulent suites and four stunning penthouse suites. Brisbane is buzzing with excitement as Queen’s Wharf transforms The City’s riverfront into a vibrant playground of luxury and leisure. The building is located in the south of the central business district close to the City Botanic Gardens and Brisbane River. In 2017, residents were permitted to begin moving in, before the rest of the building was completed.
Sky Deck’s Executive Chef, Shayne Mansfield, has collaborated with his team and local producers to curate dishes that reflect Aloria’s unique surroundings matched with seasonal flavours for an exceptional dining experience. “The massive
Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project is delivering nearly 2,000 jobs during peak construction and
8,000 jobs in total including through the supply chain and hospitality once it’s open.” Cicada Blu welcomes walk-in guests for casual drinks and stunning views, operating from 3 pm until late on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from noon until late on Fridays through Sundays. With tasty Aussie favourites including BBQ grilled plates and classic comforts, the menu here is designed to be shared, so fire up the group chat and meet your mates above the Queen Street Mall.
We all expected The Star Brisbane to level up the Brissy dining scene, and they’re doing so quite literally with their latest announcement! From a selection of Brisbane’s grandest hotels to delectable dining, spectacular sky-high views and unique experiences for locals and tourists alike, The Star Brisbane promises to celebrate the best of Queensland’s river city. Start your trial today and enjoy 14 days of full access and services free of charge. In the past, Dallas and his team either had to be more conservative with their design approach, assessing everything manually by hand, applying documented models, and adapting them for a custom connection.
Located on the Eastern side of Sky Deck and open from 7am to late daily, bustling all-day dining experience Babblers provides locals and visitors with an array of breakfast, lunch and dinner options – perfect for those in search of a more relaxed, social experience. “On-site over 5000 bolts were required to completely
lock the platform made out of Australian steel into place in-between the two existing buildings.” “For the overall design and installation process,
there was a team of over five different structural engineering firms and over 10 subcontractors”. • 22,600 tonnes total structural and reo steel concrete used in construction Last week the Neville Bonner Bridge touched down, linking South Bank to the CBD, and now our iconic Sky Deck is two-thirds of the way to complete,”
Mr Dodt said. Kelvin Dodt Chief, Operating Officer, The Star
Entertainment Group Brisbane said it’s another significant step
in the progress of the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development.
The bridge will be completed in three stages creating a distinctive arc shape of the deck.

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development delivered nearly 2,000 construction jobs on site at peak,
with 8,000 jobs expected in total, including the supply chain and operational roles.

“We want to ensure our team members are prepared, our facilities have been tested, our processes are right, and importantly our guests have an exceptional experience that they will talk about and come back to experience again,” said Finch of the staged opening.

When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will offer four new luxury hotels, including The Star Grand, more than 50 new restaurant and bars, around
1,500 residential apartments and more than 12 football fields of
public space including art works and the restoration of
nine heritage buildings. The star of the entrees was one of
my favourite dishes that I often find is so amped up with raw onion that the delicate flavours of the meat are lost.

Multiplex Senior Project Manager Michael Phillips said it’s a testament to the team, subcontractors,
and consultants for achieving this lift which has
already transformed the city skyline. The Star Brisbane is home to
the five-star The Star Grand Brisbane, a vibrant collection of restaurants
and bars, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre – including
    Brisbane’s largest hotel ballroom.
This made it possible to import the model into IDEA StatiCa through Checkbot,
which was a huge advantage for the team as this meant they could transfer data without loss using IDEA StatiCa’s
well-documented API. The key takeaway from the project for Dallas and his team
was the confidence he and his team felt in their designs.
Dallas and his team were also faced with solving some other very creative connections due to the strict architectural decision in how to do the project.
This means, if they had locked the decks between the towers, a lot of internal
    forces would develop.
